If you are planning a holiday or stay in South Corsica, we invite you to discover Sari Solenzara, a gem of the Côte des Nacres 40 km from Via Mare.
As its name indicates, this town combines the village of Sari, located in the mountain, with the seaside resort, Solenzara. The town has 1200 inhabitants and its territory of 74 km2 consists of charming valleys surrounded by hills and mountains. Appreciated by tourists because of its proximity to the sea, a river and the mountain in one place, it features sublime natural landscapes and a fascinating hinterland to discover.
One can only appreciate its ideal beaches, its marina with its restaurants and cafes-terraces as well as its numerous shops for shopping. The beach of Scaffa Rossa Dolce Vite (the most historic of this place) is known for the finesse of its pale sand. Just like those of Canella and Favone, which have all the services of a seaside resort of friendly refreshments. The city’s rich historical past is also worth exploring because of its picturesque architecture, old-fashioned alleys in the Old Town, monuments and churches, and a museum. Do not hesitate to go to the nearby city to discover, a source of unforgettable memories.
The most daring will be delighted to walk La Passerelle (4 kms from the city) to climb the path that leads to the beautiful river La Solenzara. They can even jump into a large natural pool from the suspension bridge (a jump of 6 meters) to rest then on the sandy beach. In the hinterland, you can go canyoning, rock climbing or go hiking on one of the trails. The flora is beautiful and, if you are lucky, you will see some mouflons, birds of prey and boars. Not to mention the many natural “pools” and waterfalls, ideal for cooling off. At about 30 km from the city, one can only be impressed by the famous Aiguilles de Bavela, red granite massifs skilfully carved by nature. It is also one of the most photographed sites in Corsica.
Sari Solenzara is ideal for the lover of green tourism. Its emerald water river, its string of waterfalls and its majestic forests welcome many hiking and walking routes.
The guarantee of relaxing and refreshing moments!
The place also hosts one of the largest tree climbing courses in Europe.
To live to the rhythm of the local population, nothing better than to attend one of the musical evenings that take place every Wednesday evening and Saturday evening of July and August in Solenzara. The Marché des producteurs et artisans, which takes place every Monday from May to September, is ideal for enjoying the joyful and friendly atmosphere of an outdoor market. Take the opportunity to find local handicrafts and excellent local products (wines, olive oils, cheeses).
